Face:

To achieve the dirty and contoured looked I used the darkest shade subconscious in the Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette. I used this shade to contour my cheeks and brought the product up towards my ears and around to my forehead (be generous as most fortune tellers did not bath often;)) I also extended the product down my neck and onto my collar bone. You can use this shade to contour your neck and collar bone for a deeper/sucken in look!

Next I added a gray and dark purple eyeshadow (both from the Morphe Brushes Palettes 350 and 35T to the contour onto of the kat von d subconscious colour. It gave it a better dirt colour and these are the shades I also used on my eyes. Lastly I added the Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop Face Palette (Discontinued) highlight in the shade Champagne Pop to add some glow over my cheeks and just below my brows.

Makeup Tools Used:

Real Techniques Beauty Sponge (2x $14CA)

Morphe E2 Powder Brush ($19.99US)

Morphe E4 Blush Brush ($13.99US)

Morphe E61 Pointed Highlight Brush ($7.99US)

Eyes:

I started by applying my brows as I usually do using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow in Ebony. However I made sure my brows were extra dark and added some bushyness to the ends as I am sure a fortune teller would not have well manicured brows!!

Next I did my eyes.  I used the Mac Eyelash Curler to curl my eyelashes and the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer in Minor Sin to prime before applying any shadow.

For a base eyeshadow I used Anastasia Beverly Hills Renaissance Palette in the shade Tempera. As mentioned above I used the darkest gray from the Morphe Brushes Palettes 350 and the dark purple eyeshadow from the Morphe Brushes Palettes 35T in the crease of my eye extending in towards and down both sides of my nose (be very generous with this application as well. On my lid I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Renaissance Palette in the shade Primavera. Lastly I added my wing liner using the Amaterasu Liquid Eyeliner in Black.

To add the veins on the under eye I started by applying Venetian Red from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Renaissance Palette. I extended this from under my eye up to my crease. I then used the Amaterasu Liquid Eyeliner in Black and drew very thin veins/lines from my lower lash line down toward my cheeks. Make them very in length and swiggly like veins would be. On top of the liquid liner I used a red (NYX 817 Hot Red) and burgundy lip liner (Mac Bespoken For) to give them a more realistic vein look and then added some more Venetian red to dull the lines.

Once that was completed I applied the Sephora Collection False Lashes and used Duo Eyelash Adhesive to apply them. I finished my lashes off my coating them with the L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Waterproof Mascara.

Makeup Tools Used For Eyes and Brows:

Morphe M200 Deluxe Crease ($4.99US)

Morphe M332 Fluffy Crease ($4.99US)

Morphe M433 Pro Firm Blending Fluff ($5.99)

Morphe M165 Brow Brush ($1.99 US)

Morphe Brush M224 ($2.99) with concealer to line under brows

Lips:

For the lips I used the same burgundy liner as I used to make the veins under my eyes and then used Gerard Cosmetics liquid lipstick in Ruby Slipper. Before it dries I applied the same Primavera shadow from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Renaissance Palette to the centre of my top and bottom lip and extended out toward the corner of my lips.

Accessories:

My earrings and necklace that I used on my head scarf are both from Party City and my scarf I had lying around and just tied it around my head. The wig I got awhile ago from Images and Shades Cosmetics in turquoise.

Hands:

I used Flash Tattoos as well as drew Tantra symbols on my fingers using the Amaterasu Liquid Eyeliner in Black  (just googled tantra symbols) followed by as many rings as I could fit!

Party Time!

I am so excited to ring in the Christmas season at Eliasz & Ella & Miss Boss’ Holiday Fete! For this very reason I wanted to dress up and celebrate! I am such a huge fan of Christmas so any excuse to get dressed up I’ll take!

Dressing for a holiday party should be all about fun! For this reason I love a great pair of sparkly shoes! I nabbed these beautiful glitter Badgley Mischka shoes online last fall after seeing them at the Bay! They will be a holiday staple for years to come and they can easily dress up any outfit! I linked some similar shoes for a quarter of the price (here)!

I love different takes on little black dresses so I fell in love with this H&M Lace dress with 3/4 sleeves, its sexy without showing all the goodies lol! You really don’t have to spend a ton of money on a dress to look and feel amazing, I have probably had this dress for 3 years now and its such a great go to! There are so many ways to spice up an older dresses without spending little to no money, new shoes, new jewelry, new lipstick! Some of my favourite places to shop for dresses is Asos, H&M & Forever 21, I have linked some favourites below!

Have a great weekend gals and I hope to see you at the party tomorrow! xo

Eyebrow Routine

I first started learning to fill in my brows at a makeup class here in Edmonton and from that point forward my makeup routine was forever changed. Filling in your brows not only gives structure and depth to you face, it also frames and highlights your eye! If I am going to do one thing in the mornings its by brows! For that very reason I want to share my eyebrow routine with you all!

Now keep in mind it does take a while to get the hang of it and figure out the shape that best suits you! I still sometimes play around with this, just remember to have fun with it! I would highly recommend going into Sephora and either talking with a beauty consultant there or taking swatches of the different shades of dip brow to figure out which will suit your eyebrow colour best. I have both shades Dark Brown and Ebony, depending on the seasons and how dramatic of I look I want i go between the two!

Products Used: I am a dye hard Anastasia Beverly Hills fan. Her dip brow is amazing, reasonably priced ($18) and lasts foreverrrrr! (As you can tell from the picture below I bought this shade over 9 months ago and I am barely half way through it!)

Step 1: Brush your brows. I like to brush out my brows to make sure all the little hairs are straight and pointed in the right direction!DSC01012

Step 2: Dip your tipped brushed into the dip brow and use the under side of the lid to feather out the product so you don’t take on too much! I also like to pinch my tipped brush with toilet paper to make sure the tip is as pointed and straight as possible.

DSC01021 DSC01024

Step 3: Line under your brows. I like to have as straight of line as possible because of my eyebrow shape. Again this will vary depending on the shape of your own brow and the look you would like to attain!

DSC01028

Step 4: Line above your brows. The key to lining above is not going for a solid dark line the whole way, you’ll see below I start to line a bit behind the start of my brow and then back towards the tip of my brow.

DSC01031

Step 5: Fill in your brow. As mentioned above i like to leave the front of my brow lighter than the rest of the brow, not having such harsh lines softens the look. With the way my brows are shaped I like to do more of a rectangle edge, some women have a more round finish whatever works for you, you do you!l!
DSC01043

Step 6: I like to finish my brows by taking a tapered brush and using my concealer to finish off the edges and make sure every line is where i want it. If you make any mistakes this concealer is a life saver! Lastly a little brow gel to keep all those little hairs in check!

Whats In My Makeup Bag!

20150403_161127

I should first note I have no education in makeup whatsoever! Like most women I have learned through magazines/friends/mom/youtubing etc and I really enjoy learning about products and trying them out!

Ok, first we are going to talk about my makeup case, how cute is it!!! It is only $12 at Forever 21 (link here)! It easily stores all of my makeup as well as my makeup brush bag which I also snatched up at Forever 21 for $11 (link here). One recommendation for makeup that I use every single solitary time I am buying any piece of makeup, is the Sephora website. I absolutely lovvvve their website for the reviews, you can tell right away if people are loving or hating a product, why and also what colours and shades are better suited for your skin type! Even if I am going into the store to pick up a couple things I will always go online first and sometimes ill even be on the site while I am in the store looking at products!!! Use it, you won’t be dissapointed!!  (Sephora link here)

Below I have broken up every item in my makeup kit and this is also everything i carry on when I am traveling! For links to all of the products just click on the individual names of each item!

Hope you enjoy! xo

The Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palettes: These are so fab and an absolute must especially if you travel. I have the Naked 2 and Naked 3 Palettes. The Naked 2 palette is a combination of browns and golds and the Naked 3 is a combination of rose golds and purples! When I am traveling, I always take these two palettes and I am more than covered for any daytime or night time looks!

Sigma Beauty Brushes: I bought the Kabuki Kit over a year ago and the brushes have held up amazingly! They are synthetic fibers and I have had zero shedding. I also find the price very reasonable considering they do not shed, nothing like spending $30 on a brush and having it shed! Whether you are applying, blending or buffing these babies have got you covered!

Geisha Ink: This is a product I am almost guaranteed to use everyday, it is my go to liquid eyeliner. It is very easy to use and lasts forrrrevvvverr!  I have used Geisha Ink for probably close to three years and love both the brown and black shades for more or less dramatic eyes! I purchase mine at Lash Affair here in Edmonton or you can grab it online!

Anastasia Beverly Hills: This is one of my favourite brands right now! Big bushy eyebrows are in people!! I currently use the Anastasia Contour kit, Dipbrow in Ebony  & Dark Brown depending on the season I like to go a bit lighter during the winter when I am more pale so it is less harsh looking and I transition to darker for summer when my skin isn’t as white as a snowman! I use the dip brow to shape the outer and inner lines and to fill them in.  I will also use the Brow wiz to shape for a more natural look and the Brow Duality for eyebrow highlighting. Lastly I will finish my eyebrows with the Brow Gel to make sure those little hairs stay in place throughout the day!

Tarte:  There are several reasons that I love this brand, the first being that it is 100% cruelty free, no need to harm animals in the process of looking fab! The second is the quality of their products. I love love love their BB Tinted 12hr Primer  which evens out my skin and makes it feel so smooth and their Amazonian Clay Foundation that allows for beautiful coverage, protection against the sun with SPF 15 and never feels too heavy or clogs pores.Next on my list of things to try is their Maracuja Self Tanner, self tanner post coming soon!

MakeUp Forever Full Coverage Concealer: Makeup Forever has a great line of products and this is probably one of the best concealers on the market. The Full Coverage Concealer lightens, brightens and is guaranteed to  hide those dark circles. Whether you are looking for a soft week highlight under the eyes or a full coverage look, this concealer does the job!

Bobbi Brown: This is such a fab line and you are sure to love all of their products, currently I am loving their Vitamin Enriched Face Base, putting this baby on before primer and foundation. It has a great smell and leaves my face feeling moisturized and fresh!

Laura Mercier: Their Translucent Loose Setting Powder  is awesome! I love this powder to set my concealer and and their Secret Camoflauge Concealer  is a great combination to the makeup forever or for hiding those stubborn imperfections. I love that there are two shades in the kit for varying skin tones and unevenness and the coverage on both is top notch!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer: This Eyeshadow Primer Potion in the shade Sin I literally use everyday regardless of whether I am working or running errands over the weekend. It has a beautiful shimmering champagne colour that looks great by itself or as the foundation for maintaining eyeshadow throughout the day! It really helps hold any eyeshadow I do put on and doesn’t leave it creasy or uneven!

Mac: I love Mac products especially their Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation. It is a great powder foundation if you are looking for a sheer matte finish with a beautiful even coverage!

Too Faced Liquid Lipstick: I am obsessed with these babies right now, they have a huge selection of colors and the pigment is so beautiful, bright and long lasting! The two Melted Long Lasting Liquified Lipstick colours in the photo are Melted Strawberry and Melted Jelly Donut!

Diorshow Mascara: I have used and tried so many mascaras I have lost count but I always seem to end up back with this one. The brush allows for thickness and volume without the clumsiness that is often found with other mascaras. You can also purchase their primer which is amazing for that little extra plumping for a special night out (here). Even when I have lash extensions I am still reaching for this mascara!

Drugstore Favorites:

Lastly I wanted to add this section because lets face it we would all be broke if we only shopped at Sephora, I can literally never leave there without spending under $100!

Benefit Cosmetics is now selling at Shoppers (yay!) and their Porefessional primer and “That Gal” brightening face primer are so fab, they even out your skin tone, prime for your foundation and leave your skin feeling like velvet!

Covergirl: I love their Ready Set Gorgeous line, especially the concealer (pictured in colour light! I also adore their lipstick and lip stain in the hot pink, red and coral shades!

Annabelle: Lastly I love Annabelle’s lip liner, for $5 you’ve got a great pigmented liner that last all day with little to no touch ups needed!
