Weekend Getaway – What I Packed!

I have been working in Regina since yesterday and head back to Saskatoon tonight after my case to spend the weekend with my hubby and his grandparents! We rarely get to go on road trips together as we both work and travel so much so I have really been looking forward to this weekend even though it is a combo work/pleasure trip!

While I was packing I thought I might as well share what I am packing and how I plan my outfits! Driving is a whole nother ball game as you can bring as much junk as you want and you aren’t limited by weight or number of bags however I didn’t want to go overboard! I much prefer driving personally because I can set my own schedule and don’t have to worry about shopping too much and not having enough luggage room for my junk!!;)

The key to packing for any trip is to coordinate your outfits. You shirts should go with every pant or skirt you bring and your shoes should work with every outfit combination. This may mean you go with a monochrome look and add colour in your accessories! If you are just throwing things in your luggage for the sake of packing you are wasting valuable space! I can bring 2 tops and 3 bottoms that all work together and have 6 outfits for a trip! Packing when it is cold out is also more difficult because your items tend to be thinker, giving you even more reason to plan! With the weather scheduled to be around 5-10C I am going to be layering up like crazy! The trip is 4 days, 2 work, 2 casual days so this is what I am packing!

Hope you enjoy! xo

Olive

Trees are changing colour, leaves are falling, pumpkin spice lattes are being drank, and my favourite colour has come back into my life! It is definitely fall here in Edmonton and I am doing a happy dance! This time of year is by far one of my favourites!

It is no secret one of my go to, all time favourite colours is Olive. Im obsessed! It literally can be paired with any shade and gives it a subtle pop of colour without being overwhelming or overpowering. One of my favourite ways to wear this colour is with accessories until I found this midi skirt for $18! I decided to pair this outfit with nude accents to make sure I really let the Olive shine, and yes maybe I went overboard on the Olive but I love it!

Midi skirts and dresses are huge this fall and I am loving the appropriate length for work and also loving the fact that I can pair them with an oversized sweater and boots for a casual look!

I have linked all of my outfit details belowI hope you all have a great weekend and we’ll talk soon!!

Hope you enjoy! xo

Summer Work Wear

I have the most fun coordinating outfits for summer, you can pretty much get away with any pattern, colour or print and I feel like you have greater flexibility as you can match to skirts/pants/capris etc and much more options when it comes to shoes!

My key tips for dressing for work in the summer are neutrals are an easy go to, soft pinks, white, beige and greys go with anything and everything. You also want to make sure its flowy and the material is breathable as no one wants to look like a sweaty mess! These tunic style tops are amazing all year round but I especially love them in the summer because you have the coverage to look professional but they are light, breathable and comfortable to work in. I probably have about 6 of these Calvin Klein tops in various colours and patterns, Ive linked a bunch down below and they can be found at Winners and The Bay! I love a neutral lace skirt, white is such a beautiful colour for the summer and you can pair it with any colour or style of top!! I have also linked a couple different styles similar to this skirt below!

Lastly the accessories, I wanted to feature the same Eliasz & Ella jewelry in my last fashion post to show variety and how one piece can work so many ways, casual or for work, so gorgeous! These gorgeous Valentino look alike shoes are only $36 from Lola Shoetique and I adore them! The neutral colour is beautiful and the studs add a little flare to them! Lola Shoetique also has an additional 15% off site wide today! Oh and this bag! I love love Matt & Nat and this is my go to work bag! If you are looking for a great work or diaper bag that is stylish, functional and doesn’t harm any fur babies, you need to grab yourself the Raylan, it is currently on sale!!! Details below!

Little Black Bag

Anyone else obsessed with this colour?! And slurpees?! haha!! I had to take a couple photos of this outfit because I am so in love! I nabbed these open toe booties on sale at the Coach Outlet Store online for only $80, I couldn’t resist the colour!!! Score!! Also can we please talk about this purse! I was strolling around Southgate and this baby caught my eye in the Le Chateau store… hellloooo!!!! I don’t often shop there but it is the spitting image of my dream handbag, A Chanel Boy Bag and for 1000th of the price haha cha ching!! A classic black shoulder bag is a necessity in any women’s wardrobe, dressed up or down, you can pair it with any print or colour combo. I am also a huge fan of this size of handbag, most of my handbags are quite a bit larger and this is a refreshing change, large enough to fit my wallet, phone and other necessities but not so big you can cram your life into one bag!

Hope you enjoy! xo
