Top: Urban Baby Boutique Swim Diapers (30% off Nov20-Dec 1st Code: CYVERWEEK17 – This is a newer brand for us that we recently came across at the Make It Edmonton Expo! We love their swim diaper and they also have a line of cloth diapers and tethers!

Aura Leaf Sling If you follow me on instagram you know how much I love Aura Leaf Slings, they have been a lifesaver for me and makes my life sooo much easier! Aura Leaf is made by a local Edmonton mama!

Wylo & Co Harem Leggings – If memory serves me correct Cash has worn every size of these leggings so far! They are made of bamboo, sooo soft, and made locally in Alberta!!

Otherware Duo Teether We have had both the duo teether and pacifier clip from Otherwise since Cash was born and both have been two of our most used baby items. Whenever Cash is in his car seat these two pieces are essential, and they are made in Alberta!!

Xo One Berrie Towel  – I actually got this towel before Cash was born and we have used it ever since his first bath! One Berrie is made by a BC mama with gorgeous soft, bamboo material and it is seriously a genius design to keep baby dry and warm while helping mom and dad dry after bath time!

House of Hale Teepee  – We were actually gifted a House Of Hale teepee just after Cash was born and it has been such a beautiful and fun addition to his playroom! Its made locally in Spruce Grove and the patterns and craftsmanship are out of this world stunning!

Jack’s Mama Booties  These beautiful crochet booties are made by a local Edmonton mama and are an absolute staple when in comes to dressing your baby for those Canadian winters!

My Mila Pom Toque  – We love these pom pom toques made in Alberta and lovvve the fact that they also have mommy/daddy and mini matching toques!

DIY Christmas Ornaments

I had such an overwhelming response after posting these on my instagram stories that I had to share how I made them!

First off I cannot take credit for this genius idea, it was totally a pinterest hack! Also I will add that I don’t have a creative bone in my body, these were super easy to make and sooo inexpensive! I specifically wanted to make them for our Christmas tree but also thought they would be a cute way to tag presents!

Matte Mod Podge

Sharpe Scissors

Pic Collage App

Rustic Wooden Ornaments

Sponge or Brush

I went to my local Michaels and they currently have all of their DIY ornaments 40% including these ones! I also picked up the mod podge there (I got the matte finish)! Each ornament cost $2.63 to make!

Step 1: Format & Print Photos

Not gonna lie this took me awhile to figure out but i finally got it!! First I knew I wanted black and white photos so I used Photos on my Mac to change the filter to Tonal. Next I used the Pic Collage app to format the photos into circles and then hit the + button to add text, i decided i wanted to add the year to all of the photos! Save these to your camera roll.

Step 2: Next I uploaded the photos to the Costco Photo Centre online, you can order them and then just go in to pick them up, super convenient and easy! I went with the matte finish as I wanted to keep with the rustic look and printed them as 4×6 to fit the ornaments! I believe Walmart, Staples and London Drugs offer the same service!

Step 3: Cut out the circles of your photos (very sharp scissors help!), I then put a layer of mod podge on the front of the ornament where the photo will go and on the back of the photo, centre and let dry!

Step 4: The final step is coating the top of the photo with the mod podge and let it dry!

Ta da!

February Favourites

The fact that February is over is a testament to how fast my life has been flying by recently! Becoming a mom has been the most amazing thing I have ever experienced however it is not without its challenges. Also having a husband start shift work up north has tested my resilience, patience and the ability to function on minimal sleep haha! That being said  we are all doing so great, enjoying every day even if most days we don’t get out of our pjs, that is why this month it is all about the basics. These are all items i have used religiously this past month!

Hope you enjoy!

Z Supply Camo Tee /Z Supply Courier Pant

This is one of my favourite brands not only because they are reasonable priced but because they create comfortable, function pieces that are awesome for a new mom needing comfort and durability!

Lululemon Align Pant

I bought these pants almost a year ago before my trip to Hawaii and I am still so in love with them. They are so soft and the perfect pant for a mom avoiding those pre pregnancy jeans!!

Sugi Tree Bath Potions

I took my first bath as a mom before Clayton left to go out of town and I cannot even tell you how much I enjoyed it, not only because it was 30minutes to myself but because this bath potion made it even more relaxing and enjoyable. I am so in love with this company, all of their products are hand crafted in Toronto and available now at Miss Boss here in Edmonton. Lastly and my most favourite part of supporting this company is that they donate 10% of each purchase to the Toronto Humane Society, Ontario SPCA, Rocky Mountain Animal Rescue, Wildlife Rescue Association of BC and World Wildlife Fund. How amazing is that!!! Go buy a batch or two, they also make great gifts!!

L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara Primer

If I am putting on any makeup, mascara is one of those things I always reach for for even a minimal slap on of makeup! I became a fan of mascara primer when I first tried the Dior primer however the pricetag was less than ideal so I then graduated to the Tarte primer and now this drugstore primer, and it is one word, amazing! Keep an eye out for a mascara primer comparison coming to the blog soon!

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment

This is a product I keep on me at all times. My lips have been so dry lately and I use it in conjunction with the lip scrub for flawless, hydrated lips!

Kate Spade Planner

I feel like I am already behind this year, so many things I want to do and ideas I have but lately with an 8 week old tied to me, its been harder than I thought to have that me time to do anything but nurse, change diapers and have the occasional shower! Enter the planner. I love being able to plan ahead, write down ideas for posts and have a schedule ahead of time. I have to capitalize on the time i do have and this helps me organize and delegate my time accordingly!

Rebecca King 3 Way Sweater

This sweater is life. I am a huge fan of the Saskatchewan designer and this sweater I have lived in since giving birth. The material is beautiful and flattering, something I can throw on with jeans or leggings and feel put together which is really nice these days!!

Kevin Murphy Fresh Hair Dry Shampoo

Lastly, this is a product I could not have lived without these last two months. With Clayton being away I don’t get any me time including showering without company so the 2, 3, 4 day old hair has had to do and this product makes it doable!

DIY Wicker Baskets

I did a little DIY for turtle’s nursery so I wanted to share with you guys as I am thrilled with the results! His nursery colours are a light mint, navy blue and grey so I wanted to incorporate that into these baskets!

Items you will need.

Wicker basket (I got these from Michaels as they are currently 40% off!)

Spray paint in desired colour (I used Krylon Paint & Primer in Catalina Mist and Oxford Blue)

Green painting tape (home depot)

Clear plastic garbage bag

Next up I cut strips of clear garbage bags to surround the outer and inner top half of the wicker basket. I painted a little less than half of the bottom, the amount you choose totally up to you!

Lastly I let them sit in the sun for an hour to fully dry! Ta Da!! It’s a great way to cut costs and add some colour without shelling out a fortune for colourful baskets!

Hope you enjoyed!
