Warm Plaid

When I think of fall I can’t help but think of warm neutrals and plaid! This outfit is a great everyday wear and can easily be dressed up with a dress and tall boots. The functionality of a good cardigan and scarf can go a long way!! As an added bonus both the scarf and cardigan are very reasonably priced at $24 and $36 (linked below). I am also so in love with this cork bag, I can’t tell you how many times I get stopped to ask where it is and what it is made out of! It is Matt & Nat’s Cork Kinta bag (linked below) and its made from recycled material. Believe it or not the cork bag transitions flawlessly from day to night and the neutral colours make it a win for every outfit!!

As I close in on 30 weeks I finally decided I needed some maternity jeans! Jeans were the only thing causing me some discomfort so I headed over the Yo Mama Maternity and fell in  with these Queen Mum dark denim jeans. I wanted dark denim to that I was able to transition them from work to casual, and be able to dress them up and dress them down! They also will transition to non maternity jeans after turtle is born which makes the investment even more worth it!

I hope you guys have a great weekend! I am off to get my winter tires put on;)

Fuzzy Fall Neutrals – Thanksgiving

It is Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada and I could not be more thankful for the many blessings in my life. We have so much to be thankful for, it is sometimes overwhelming. Carrying our beautiful baby boy has made me appreciate every ounce of health and wellness both myself and my family have. Ive been so blessed to have the opportunity to be pregnant and grow our little turtle, feeling him move and kick  (even at all hours of the night) and I am trying desperately to cherish every second as its going by way too fast!!

I am also so thankful for all of you and the ongoing support and love I receive on a daily basis. This blog has brought so many amazing people into my life and I truly love sharing this experience with all of you! So thank you!!

Lastly I am so thankful for my health, my home and family. Encountering so many people on a daily basis has made me realize that life can be really hard on people and although this economy has hit our family hard, as I am sure many of you can relate, the greatest blessings carry no price tag.

Now onto the outfit!!;) I have been living in this fuzzy sherpa vest that I picked up from Anthropologie last fall. Unfortunately it is no longer available however I have found exact replicas for much cheaper!! You can thank me later;) I wanted to put together a cozy neutral outfit, great for a Thanksgiving style option or a day at work! One of the reason I love this vest so much is the versatility. I wore it earlier in the week with a plaid top and jeans for a casual look, it looks great dressed up as Ive paired it here with this non maternity long sleeve midi dress that is bump friendly and only $26! Lastly I couldn’t help but add some suede and leather details for the full fall effect!!

I have linked all of the outfit details below! Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!

While you are reading this I am making my way home from Saskatchewan! It has been a great week, lots of driving and the best part, visiting with my family!  As much as I love being on the road, I am very much looking forward to being home and in my own bed with my loves. I am still not sleeping that well which makes for longer days, a sore back and some extra steeped teas for pick me ups haha!

Up today on the blog, I wanted to share my typical weekend look! Comfy converse, a stretch tank and some plaid with layered accessories! Also please do not mind my jean extender its sticking out a bit in these pictures lol, I think it may be time to buy some maternity pants!!!

Hope you guys have a great weekend!

Non Maternity Fashion for the Growing Belly

I have been asked a lot lately as to what brand and styles of non maternity clothes I am wearing so I wanted to share my favourite non maternity outfits for fall that style flawlessly with the bump!

Keys to remember when buying non maternity for the bump?!

Stretch – Look for items made with elastic that will stretch and grow with your bump

Ruching – Helps accentuate the bump while allowing the outfit to stretch with you.

Swing/Shift – Dresses and shirts in this style will easily adjust to your bump while still remaining comfortable.

Length – Keep in mind as your bump grows, expanding outwards and upwards, length will become important. Look for extra length in tops and dresses (midi instead of mini) to accommodate the bump!

First up!

Layering Basics

I live in C’est Moi Seamless Bamboo basics all of which I had before I was pregnant. These are an absolute must for your basic wardrobe before, during and after the bump, pieces you can invest in and know they will last you years!! C’est Moi has a huge variety of pieces including tanks, tees, dresses and leggings all of which have fit and grown with my bump flawlessly so far at 25 weeks! You can purchase C’est Moi in Canada here!

Dresses & Tops

When looking for non maternity dresses keep in mind stretch, length and flow. All of these dresses below would fit the bump before and after, the key is to make sure they have enough elastic to grow with you and the length to sustain the belly growing upwards and outwards! Lastly look for midi dresses, shift dress or a line dresses that will conform to your bump while still remaining comfortable!

Most of the above can be said for tops as well, Ive resorted to more flowy, stretchy tops like the ones Ive linked below. Again keep in mind stretch and length!

Ponchos & Bottoms

Considering it is now fall Ponchos are an amazing option for that growing belly. Paired with a C’est Moi tank, some leggings or stretchy jeans, booties and you are ready to go! I also love ponchos because regardless of your size of shape they are another staple in your outfit that will fit before, during and after pregnancy!

Lately Ive been resorting to stretchy knit skirts and leggings. You can always go a size up if they are fitting a bit snug but it still allows you the versatility to dress up for work and feel comfortable which is seriously the most important!!Collage_FotorNonmaternity2.jpgCardigans/Ponchos: Striped Frayed PonchoMulti Colored Wrap ShawlTasseled Hem PonchoOpen Longline Blazer

Fall Textures

I am invigorated by the fact that the trees are changing colour and there is a crisp coolness to the air! This summer went by so quickly and was so busy for us that I am somewhat thankful it is over (Sorry to those who are not ready!!).

Especially being pregnant this fall, I think I am most excited for the fall fashion outfits to come. A variety of combinations of sweaters, boots, wool hats, textured accessories and prints make me one happy mama! Combining this waffle sweater by Jack,  the plaid scarf by Jackson Rowe, suede over the knee boots, wool hat and cork bag sum up the endless possibilities of combining textures and patterns this fall! Im seriously obsessed haha!

Now can we talk about these boots for a second! I had been looking for the perfect suede boots since the start of last fall and when I saw them at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale I knew they would be mine and I would wear them until I the end of time haha! They are so comfortable and the thick heel make them wearable during the day and night! They are also such a beautiful colour, making pairing them with browns/black/greys all work flawlessly! Definitely a must have for me for this fall season!

I have linked my outfit details below! Hope you have a great weekend loves!
