My Shopping Secret

Today I am sharing my biggest shopping secret including how I got this skirt for $8!

One of the best things you can do for your wallet is shop out of season. What does this mean?! Buy winter clothes in the spring and summer clothes in the fall/winter. This may seem like a downer as you have to wait until the following season to wear your pieces, however you will get the greatest discounts and your wallet will thank you! This time of year is when all of the winter accessories/coats/boots will start to go on sale and the closer to spring the greater the discount as stores want to get rid of their inventory for their new lines that are coming in!

I have tried to find this exact skirt online and it is sold out so I have linked several similar options all for under $10!

Winter Work Wear Essentials

Im not sure whether this should be titled winter or fall work wear considering the snow on the ground and the fact that it is November (Im still trying to wrap my head around this one!), regardless I’ll just go with it! One of the best things about the fall/winter season is the ability to layer! Different patterns and textures allows for a variety of fashionable combinations that are suitable in a work environment. I am loving this pairing of a skirt and printed collared shirt underneath a sweater with leggings and boots. It is very office appropriate while still being comfortable and chic! Below I have shared my fall/winter work wear essentials:

Wool Trench Coat – With winter arriving sooner than expected a great wool trench coat is a must for our Alberta climate! I bought this Michael Kors Wool Trench at Nordstroms on clearance last fall and I have worn it consistently throught the fall and winter seasons. The neutral colouring allows me to pair it with any combination of outfit and the gold details add a beautiful touch for a classy jacket! I have linked its details as well as similar coats below!

Functional Jewelry: I nabbed this necklace for $25 a couple weeks ago and cannot take it off, the quality is pretty good considering the price however I am glad I did not pay the retail price of $68. If you are going to buy the necklace wait for a sale!

Its no secret that I am obsessed with Eliasz & Ella and I wear their amazing bracelets daily, however most don’t know that they also have a gorgeous line of rings and midi rings that I cannot take off! With Christmas coming up their whole jewelry line is perfect for any fashionista! PS They are having a huge Holiday Party this coming Saturday November 14th at Miss Boss here in Edmonton where they will have limited edition pieces as well as some great sales!! I have linked the event page here, see you there!!!

A Wool Skirt – As you may recognize, I am loving wool for this season! Its warm, functional and stylish with unlimited outfit options! This skirt was purchased at Jcrew also on clearance in the states. Details linked below, and remember most of my fall items I purchase in the spring when everything goes on sale!

Sweaters – This basic black sweater is from Joe Fresh, $20 and super cute. You do not need to fork out a lot of money for great sweaters, Joe Fresh and Old Navy have great options in tons of colour choices for a third of what you would pay at Jcrew or similar!

Work Bag: This Matt & Nat Raylan has been my go to bag from the second I got it. With the neutral colouring I have been able to transition from spring/summer graciously into winter without skipping a beat! This bag has everything, a laptop sleeve, 4 exterior pockets and a second pocket on the interior! Whether you need it for work or a diaper bag I highly recommend this bag. It comes in some beautiful colours, is made in Canada and doesn’t hurt any animals in the process!!

Fleece Leggings: I live in these puppies most of the fall and winter! Costco has an amazing deal on fleece leggings, 2 for $12.99!!! Ive bought my fair share as they are great quality and you cannot beat the price!

Collared Shirts – Plaid is a staple of mine and this little plaid number I got at Old Navy as well! They have so many plaid colour variations to choose from it allows you to have some fun with your outfits! JCrew is also an awesome place to get collared shirts, my instagram photo awhile back with the lined collared shirt was from Jcrew on clearance!

Self Tanner: Can you believe how white I look;)

Boots – Last but definitely not least and probably one of the most important for a great fall work outfit is the boots! I love the cognac colour, it gives your outfit a pop of colour without being over baring or lost as many black boots can be if you are wearing a black outfit and black leggings! These Tory Burch boots my hubby picked up at the Toronto outlet (doesn’t he have amazing taste;)!) and I am so in love with them! Key things to look for when purchasing boots, comfort and quality. Boots are something I don’t hesitate to invest more money on because if you take care of them and bring them to your local Shoe Repair store for new soles and a good polishing they can last you several seasons! That being said I have never paid full price for a pair of Tory Burch boots, the outlet malls in the states are the best place to find great styles at a huge discount, all of my boots have been bought in Vegas at the North Outlet Mall!

Hope you enjoy! xo

One Piece Suits All Under $85

One Piece suits use to be for the old and the unstylish, that is no longer the case thanks to fabulous designers who realized a women would look just as great and sexy in a one piece!!

Regardless of your size or body type, it can be very easy to find a suit to compliment your figure, that being said the cut is the most important! Ive outlined below my favourites all under $85 at Asos online! If you are unsure about your body type and what would flatter you best check out this great breakdown on body types here and what suits are recommended depending on your type! (here)

Lastly a lot of people are hesitant to buy clothing online and I tend to agree on some occasions, with that being said a lot of Canadian sites now offer free shipping so you can return the suit worst case scenario if it doesn’t fit. Most good sites will also have a very accurate size chart, get a measuring tape and measure yourself to make sure. Also read the reviews if there are any! They may outline if it fits smaller or true to size or if the straps are adjustable or removable etc. I successfully ordered my L Space Wild One Piece (below) online and it fit absolutely perfectly! My other favourite online sites to find super cute one pieces for reasonable prices?! VenusOld Navy & Victoria Secret

Hope you enjoy! xo

Floral & Brights:

All three of these suits have a plunge V neckline and underwire. I will no longer buy a bathing suit without underwire, it is a necessity for any lady to help hold the girls in place and also to provide a more flattering look. These bright colours are so much fun and would be a perfect addition for a little weekend getaway or a week long under the Mexican sun!

Ruched & Bandeau Support:

Similar to the above three theses three suits all have the similar V neckline, I love having adjustable straps so if you do want to void those tan lines on your chest you can just undo or remove the straps. Ruching is key for any ladies looking to accentuate your waistline while masking any abdominal imperfections.

I think we can all agree black is comfort, figure flattering and an easy go to look. These three suits add a bit of flare to the typical basic black suit, each complimenting vary body types and your favourite features!

It would also be a disservice if I did not include my two favourite suits over $85:)

L Space Wild One Piece $139 (here) I wore this bathing suit all around Southeast Asia and it did not let me down. The fit and the placement of the cut outs is perfection, I am not a skinny girl and was able to feel covered but also really comfortable and a bit sexy:O! The higher thigh cut out is very flattering and the cinching of the chest is perfect, I wear a 34DD and would probably not recommend it to anyone larger as the girls may decide to make an appearance!

Anthropologie Lace Front Maillot $98 (here) I have not purchased this suit…. yet, my favourite (far right has been on backorder forever!!! But it has caught my eye on several occasions as well as I have seen it on several instagram blogger sites and it looks amazing on everyone! I love the coverage but the plunge lace v neck is spot on and adds a very feminine touch! Amen for summer:):)
