Cat Eye & Red Lip Makeup Look

This is definitely one of my favourite looks of all time. Classic yet fun, reformed yet casual!

My go to products for this look are the Amaterasu Liquid Eyeliner in Black and the L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Gloss in Shanghai Scarlett

Both of these products are in my top favourites for quality, pigment and longevity.

Sephora Haul + Holiday First Access

My mom and I visited the Sephora at Kingsway this past weekend to attend their VIB Holiday First Access event! It was a great event with coffee, snacks and tons of new goodies to explore!

Lets see what I walked away with!!

Tarte Pretty Paintbox Collectors Makeup Case $77 (Value $543.00)

This gorgeous kit has you covered on all fronts, 24 stunning limited edition eyeshadows, a waterproof micro liner, Tarteist lash paint mascara, goosy lip paint ANDDD a four piece cheek kit to, accentuate contour and highlight!

Pro’s

This palette literally has everything you need, a one stop shop with beautiful, quality made products. Tarte is one of my favourite brands and with a variety of colours and shades, it offers every skin tone an option for a minimal or full face makeup application!

Con’s

The package is beautiful but not fully travel or wear proof. With the fabric front cover my fear would be it getting dirty very quickly, also with the magnetized closure, there is no way to secure the kit shut so I would definitely not be bringing this with me on any trips.

Verdict

If you are looking for a great kit for the makeup lover, a palette that can be used relentlessly everyday, I would definitely recommend it. When you also consider the value of this palette at $543, for only $77 it is a deal hard to walk away from!

Bite Beauty Set $29 ($64 Value)

This was the first kit I instantly gravitated towards. I have heard great things about the quality and consistency of their Bite products so it was a no brainer and also a great price and kit to try out their products! This kit comes with four shades, varying from nude to plum as seen below and i already love the pigment and feel of these lipsticks.

Pro’s

Great starter kit to try out the products (their lipsticks start at $30 each) so to be able to try four shades for $29 its a great deal!

Con’s

The only negative I would mention is that they are quite small, great for travel but if you fall in love with a shade you’ll definitely need to go ahead and buy the larger size as it won’t last you long!

Verdict

Great product, very reasonable price, a win win!

Last up is the Kat Von D Liquid Lipsticks! These were not included in the holiday access however Ive been eyeing these for a while and wanted to take advantage of the 4X the points until September 19th!

The first one i opted for was the Project Chimps Everlasting Liquid Lipstick. I researched this shade online and it has unbelievably good ratings and now I know why! The colour is absolutely stunning and perfect for fall. I also am so in love with the fact that 20% of the price of every lipstick is donated to Project Chimps, an organization that helps retire biomedical research chimps to a life of freedom. Win, Win, Win!

The second shade is Bow N Arrow, another liquid lipstick that has a great reputation. I am really loving browns this fall and this is the perfectly nude/warm shade!

Verdict

Both are worth the investment as the quality, pigment and longevity of these shades is fantastic!

I hope you guys have enjoyed this Sephora haul and you all have a great week!

$8 Sephora Rose Face Mask

My skin has been acting up a bit lately so I decided it was time to try out this Sephora Collection Rose Face Mask! Truthfully I am not a big mask person, I rarely use them and Im not really sure why! Awhile ago I invested in a glamglow face mask and was not thrilled with the results and those puppies aren’t cheap so that may be why! But any who at $8 this mask was a no brainer!

The mask itself comes in a peel away package and you are left with an outline of a face that you align with your face (as you can see in the pictures lol)! I have to say it was a little slimy at first but I ended up really liking this mask. The scent is beautiful and when I did take it off after the 15minutes it instructed I was really happy with how my skin felt! Im not sure if I noticed a definite brightening affect but nonetheless was still happy with the results!

This Rose Mask is for Ultra Hydrating and Brightening which I thought was perfect for the summer months however the Sephora Collection has a variety of 8 different kinds of masks, all at this price range and all for different results i.e. tightening, anti blemish etc. They also have a variety of eye and lip masks as well!

I would definitely recommend these masks for anyone looking to give their skin a little pick me up and not completely break the bank in the process!!

Hope you guys have a great week!

Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Double-Ended Mascara And Lash Primer

I wanted to review this Tarte Lights Camera Lashes mascara as soon as I had given it enough time to trial because it is Limited Edition!

You Guys!!! You neeeeeeeeeed to try this mascara, I am in Lovvvve!!!!!!!

I had been using Dior Mascara for several years and really was not happy with their latest version so I was on the hunt for a volumizing, lengthing mascara and primer and Ta-Da!!!! I found it! This mascara and primer in one does everything and more! Can you tell I am excited?!?! Reasons I love it:

  1. The 2 in 1 is perfect for travel and the combination of the two work brilliantly together!
  2. The Primer. I have come to really like priming my lashes before applying mascara (I used the Dior primer for the last couple years, it works great but it is really expensive) and this primer for this price is brilliant!
  3. The Mascara. It applies flawlessly and evenly giving you long, volumious, thick lashes!

Coming in at $24 I think it is priced very reasonably considering you are getting two products in one package. I have used this mascara everyday for almost two months now and I just love it! I have also struggled with the taking off some mascaras especially waterproof ones and I love face that I dont have to rub the crap out of my eyes to get it off!

If you guys are on the hunt for a new mascara  I would highly, highly recommend this mascara!

My Top 5 Beauty Tool Must Haves

If I could only take 5 beauty tools to a deserted island with me these would be them!

Up first up, the Beauty Blender! In case you missed my full review on this amazing tool, click here! This is my ride or dye, the robin to my batman. I use the blender to apply my tinted moisturizer, foundation, concealer and my setting powder over my concealer! The key when using the blender is to use it damp and with dabbing motions! The damp blender allows for a flawless application and the dabbing allows the blender to push the product into your skin. This is a must for any makeup collection! I also coincidently just purchased a new blender as the one I used for the last two years was looking pretty ratchety!!!

Next up, a powder brush. This powder brush by Cover FX is  vegan, cruelty free and PETA approved. With a 5/5 rating on Sephora I could not resist trying it out and the ratings are bang on. It is soft, durable and I love the size of the bristles, perfect for full face application. I use it to apply any powders, including my setting powder, blush and powder foundation! It is higher on the pay scale at $50 however after using this for over 6mths, I would highly recommend it as an investment brush!

IMG_6553.jpg

Third on the list is an angeled brush, an essential for any brush collection. I am obsessed with this brush and use it every day to apply my brows (which is an essential part of my morning;))! You can also use an angled brush for gel liner or eyeshadow application and fixing any lipstick mishaps! This brand has become my new favourite and this Morphe Brush I got through there monthly subscription. At only $2.99 (no that is not a spelling error) it is an amazing deal! I have been really impressed with the quality of this brand for such a low price point and would definitely recommend Morphe Brushes to anyone looking to add to their brush collection!

IMG_6559.jpg

Coming in at #4, a dual eyeshadow brush. This Urban Decay Naked 2 Brush came with the Naked 2 palette and I use it to put on my eyeshadows every single day. The two in one is brilliant, blending on one end and an eyelid applicator on the other. I have used this brush for at least a year and it has yet to disappoint. There is an similar brush that can be bought individually here!

IMG_6558.jpg

Lastly, an angled powder brush! My favourite is the Sigma Kabuki Angled Brush! I purchased this brush in a kit, the Kabuki Kit Brush Set and have used these brushes for almost 2 years now and they have not lost bristles or their shape! The kit, including 5 brushes was $90 and the brush by itself is $24, obviously a better deal with the kit but only by what  you need! I use this brush for all all of my contouring and bronzing application, allowing for precision application! You can tell how much I use the, by the barely visible label on the handle!
