Sephora Haul + Holiday First Access

My mom and I visited the Sephora at Kingsway this past weekend to attend their VIB Holiday First Access event! It was a great event with coffee, snacks and tons of new goodies to explore!

Lets see what I walked away with!!

Tarte Pretty Paintbox Collectors Makeup Case $77 (Value $543.00)

This gorgeous kit has you covered on all fronts, 24 stunning limited edition eyeshadows, a waterproof micro liner, Tarteist lash paint mascara, goosy lip paint ANDDD a four piece cheek kit to, accentuate contour and highlight!

Pro’s

This palette literally has everything you need, a one stop shop with beautiful, quality made products. Tarte is one of my favourite brands and with a variety of colours and shades, it offers every skin tone an option for a minimal or full face makeup application!

Con’s

The package is beautiful but not fully travel or wear proof. With the fabric front cover my fear would be it getting dirty very quickly, also with the magnetized closure, there is no way to secure the kit shut so I would definitely not be bringing this with me on any trips.

Verdict

If you are looking for a great kit for the makeup lover, a palette that can be used relentlessly everyday, I would definitely recommend it. When you also consider the value of this palette at $543, for only $77 it is a deal hard to walk away from!

Bite Beauty Set $29 ($64 Value)

This was the first kit I instantly gravitated towards. I have heard great things about the quality and consistency of their Bite products so it was a no brainer and also a great price and kit to try out their products! This kit comes with four shades, varying from nude to plum as seen below and i already love the pigment and feel of these lipsticks.

Pro’s

Great starter kit to try out the products (their lipsticks start at $30 each) so to be able to try four shades for $29 its a great deal!

Con’s

The only negative I would mention is that they are quite small, great for travel but if you fall in love with a shade you’ll definitely need to go ahead and buy the larger size as it won’t last you long!

Verdict

Great product, very reasonable price, a win win!

Last up is the Kat Von D Liquid Lipsticks! These were not included in the holiday access however Ive been eyeing these for a while and wanted to take advantage of the 4X the points until September 19th!

The first one i opted for was the Project Chimps Everlasting Liquid Lipstick. I researched this shade online and it has unbelievably good ratings and now I know why! The colour is absolutely stunning and perfect for fall. I also am so in love with the fact that 20% of the price of every lipstick is donated to Project Chimps, an organization that helps retire biomedical research chimps to a life of freedom. Win, Win, Win!

The second shade is Bow N Arrow, another liquid lipstick that has a great reputation. I am really loving browns this fall and this is the perfectly nude/warm shade!

Verdict

Both are worth the investment as the quality, pigment and longevity of these shades is fantastic!

I hope you guys have enjoyed this Sephora haul and you all have a great week!

$8 Sephora Rose Face Mask

My skin has been acting up a bit lately so I decided it was time to try out this Sephora Collection Rose Face Mask! Truthfully I am not a big mask person, I rarely use them and Im not really sure why! Awhile ago I invested in a glamglow face mask and was not thrilled with the results and those puppies aren’t cheap so that may be why! But any who at $8 this mask was a no brainer!

The mask itself comes in a peel away package and you are left with an outline of a face that you align with your face (as you can see in the pictures lol)! I have to say it was a little slimy at first but I ended up really liking this mask. The scent is beautiful and when I did take it off after the 15minutes it instructed I was really happy with how my skin felt! Im not sure if I noticed a definite brightening affect but nonetheless was still happy with the results!

This Rose Mask is for Ultra Hydrating and Brightening which I thought was perfect for the summer months however the Sephora Collection has a variety of 8 different kinds of masks, all at this price range and all for different results i.e. tightening, anti blemish etc. They also have a variety of eye and lip masks as well!

I would definitely recommend these masks for anyone looking to give their skin a little pick me up and not completely break the bank in the process!!

Hope you guys have a great week!

Makeup Eraser Review

I have been looking for a makeup remover alternative for awhile and I saw this Makeup Eraser while I was standing in the checkout line at Sephora (they get in every time in those checkout lines)! I have used disposable makeup wipes for as long as I can remember (my favourite are the L’oreal Revitalift ones at Shoppers) but I have always felt very wasteful about using the makeup remover wipes and only getting one use out of one wipe. After some humming, hawing and googling  I had to give it a try! I decided to get the black colour (it also comes in pink) just to avoid seeing most of the makeup I had taken off. I am assuming the pink would show the makeup more!

Instructions on how to use:

  1. I followed the outline instructions and washed the cloth before my first use and laid flat to dry
  2. I then ran it under warm water until wet
  3. You then lightly rub the makeup off (it even takes off waterproof mascara!)

Note: The makeup eraser is washer and dryer friendly

My overall review of this product is that I absolutely love it!!! First off, it can be used and washed up to 1000 times so the $24 investment is well worth it! Especially considering a lot of makeup removers are expensive and the $$ adds up quite quickly when you use it every night! To be able to take off my makeup cleanly and without the use of chemicals is amazing!!! I will mention that my face did feel a bit dry after (this could also just be my skin) so you may want to use a good cleaner and moisturizer after your makeup has been taken off but that is the only negative I experienced when using this product!

I would highly recommend this product to any women looking to avoid the use of any chemicals when removing her makeup, reduce the amount of waste she is producing and have beautiful clean skin with a couple wipes of a damp cloth!

Hope you guys enjoyed!

Eye Shadow Primer

Today I am talking about one of my favourite products and something I use every single day whether I am heading to work or running errands on the weekend!!! Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in the shade Minor Sin.

First of all you may be wondering why in the heck you would need an eyeshadow primer?! Well just like your face needs a primer to hold your foundation and to increase its longevity, so do your eyes! If you are putting on eyeshadow of any kind, in my personal opinion you should apply an eyeshadow primer first. If you don’t, the shadow can have fall out or move around during the day which no girl wants! Also shadows are so expensive nowadays, you do not want the shadow you are applying to fall off!! Its more like protecting your investment;)

Now onto the primer itself. Urban Decay offers 4 different shades of this primer, Original, Anti Aging, Eden and Minor Sin. I have personally only tried the Original and Minor Sin and much prefer the shade of Minor Sin! The Minor Sin shade is a champagne pigment with a sheer shimmer. It is absolutely gorgeous and just enough to brighten those eyes! I wear this all day everyday and even on it’s own, its beautiful! I also love the applicator brush on these primers, I just finished my old minor sin which came out of a squeeze tube and much prefer this applicator. I use the brush to put the product on my eyelids and then use my finger to pat the product evenly over my lid!

I have attached a swatch below of what the shade looks like, keep in mind this is a lot of product and I barely use half of this amount on my eyes, I just wanted to show the pigment so you guys have an idea of the colour and shimmer!

Hope you guys have a great week!
