Styling a Tank Dress

With a growing belly I am finding myself reaching for dresses every single day. They are breathable, comfortable and light to wear on a summer day. I can almost guarantee you won’t be seeing me in pants for the rest of the summer! I also like the fact that a basic tank dress can be dressed up or dressed down and that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to achieve these looks. This tank dress comes in at $20 from Forever 21 and can be paired with a cardigan or chambray shirt, or dressed up with some heels and a blazer. Either way the $20 is well worth it!

Now that it is officially summer I am also loving pops of colour. You could add colour in your purse like I did, add a floral blazer or a fun pair of bright shoes!

July Favourites

Is anyone else struggling with the fact that our summer is half over!!! Ahh!! Especially here in Canada we wait so long for the summer to come and when it gets here it is over in the blink of an eye! This month has been especially hectic for us as we await the possession of our home that we have spent the last year building. With lots of ups and downs we are one sleep away from getting the keys to our forever home. I can’t even tell you how relieved and excited I am to start this new phase in our life, something we have waited so long and worked so hard for! Any who! I wanted to round up my favourites from this past month and I look forward to sharing my moving/packing and unpacking tips as well as a preview of our house and how we are decorating!

Hope you guys enjoy! xo

By the colours and patterns of my favourites you would think its already fall however I am so in love with neutrals colour lately that for summer or fall these pieces will be flawless!

Dalmation Leaf Bracelet > This bracelet is gorgeous, the colour combination and pattern make it easy to accessorize with silver, black, grey or brown. It is a perfect transitional piece from summer to fall!

“Casual Fresh”Crystal Quartz Stone Necklace > I love this necklace! I can wear it with jeans or dress it up and it looks amazing in either light. If you are looking for a beautiful Canadian necklace that can be worn so many ways, you can stop looking!

Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipstick in Melted Fig > This colour is so gorgeous, it is the perfect dusty rose with a hint of purple. I will continue wearing this shade to finish out the summer and right into fall!

Express Clothing Gray Mid Rise Jean Leggings (Buy 1 Get One $29.99) I have a tough time finding jeans long enough and comfortable enough to wear, Im big into leggings  for the comfortable reason and these jeggings are so awesome. Jean leggings are the way to go, they look great but are super comfortable and stretchy!

Express Clothing Knotty Wedge Sandal in Natural (currently 30% off!) I have been looking for the perfect pair of nude shoes to wear and when I saw these on sale I couldn’t resist! The knotty details give the shoe some dimension, and they are surprisingly comfortable! I will be wearing these babies until it snows!

Matt & Nat Ohara in Cork > This bag was also featured in my May Favourites but If you follow me on instagram you know my obsession with this bag! I use it every day either as a clutch or a mini purse inside my Raylan work bag. The cork is so beautiful plus it is Canadian made and made of recycled material! Matt & Nat’s new fall line is absolutely stunning and I have my eye on a couple to add to my collection!

Essie Nail Polish in Master Plan > I am usually a gel girl but with our moving fiasco they ended up all falling off so Ive really been into painting my nails lately and when I saw this colour I knew it would become by favourite! It is the perfect combination of a taupe and grey colour, and will be yet another perfect shade to transition from summer to fall!

Summer Work Wear

I have the most fun coordinating outfits for summer, you can pretty much get away with any pattern, colour or print and I feel like you have greater flexibility as you can match to skirts/pants/capris etc and much more options when it comes to shoes!

My key tips for dressing for work in the summer are neutrals are an easy go to, soft pinks, white, beige and greys go with anything and everything. You also want to make sure its flowy and the material is breathable as no one wants to look like a sweaty mess! These tunic style tops are amazing all year round but I especially love them in the summer because you have the coverage to look professional but they are light, breathable and comfortable to work in. I probably have about 6 of these Calvin Klein tops in various colours and patterns, Ive linked a bunch down below and they can be found at Winners and The Bay! I love a neutral lace skirt, white is such a beautiful colour for the summer and you can pair it with any colour or style of top!! I have also linked a couple different styles similar to this skirt below!

Lastly the accessories, I wanted to feature the same Eliasz & Ella jewelry in my last fashion post to show variety and how one piece can work so many ways, casual or for work, so gorgeous! These gorgeous Valentino look alike shoes are only $36 from Lola Shoetique and I adore them! The neutral colour is beautiful and the studs add a little flare to them! Lola Shoetique also has an additional 15% off site wide today! Oh and this bag! I love love Matt & Nat and this is my go to work bag! If you are looking for a great work or diaper bag that is stylish, functional and doesn’t harm any fur babies, you need to grab yourself the Raylan, it is currently on sale!!! Details below!

Hope you enjoy! xo

Little Black Bag

Anyone else obsessed with this colour?! And slurpees?! haha!! I had to take a couple photos of this outfit because I am so in love! I nabbed these open toe booties on sale at the Coach Outlet Store online for only $80, I couldn’t resist the colour!!! Score!! Also can we please talk about this purse! I was strolling around Southgate and this baby caught my eye in the Le Chateau store… hellloooo!!!! I don’t often shop there but it is the spitting image of my dream handbag, A Chanel Boy Bag and for 1000th of the price haha cha ching!! A classic black shoulder bag is a necessity in any women’s wardrobe, dressed up or down, you can pair it with any print or colour combo. I am also a huge fan of this size of handbag, most of my handbags are quite a bit larger and this is a refreshing change, large enough to fit my wallet, phone and other necessities but not so big you can cram your life into one bag!

Hope you enjoy! xo

Tarte Brazilliance Sunless Tanner Review

I was so thrilled that Sephora started carrying this tanner as I love love love Tarte, I read all the reviews on Sephora’s website (5*) and I could not wait to try out this beauty!

My Steps For Sunless Tanning

1. Shower, Shave & Exfoliate

2. Apply moisturizer only to dry areas, i.e. elbows, knees, hands and feet

3. Apply sunless tanner using mit area by area. i.e. do calves, then thighs, then abdomen, upper arms, lower arms etc!

I lovvvvved this tanner, I am a frequent user of St Tropez and I liked the application process of this tanner much better and found it much less sticky. It is more of a lotion application vs the mousse application which I actually liked better. I felt like it went on easier, with no streaking or orange tone.

I felt dry within a minute or two where as some others I have used I feel like I need to stand in front of an air conditioner for 10 minutes. I also liked the smell better than St. Tropez though it is still a different smell!

The key to this tanner is the intensity will depend on how much you put on. If you would like a light glow apply the lotion minimally, if you would like a more intense tan be generous on your application! Lastly I loved the fact that this is paraben, sulcate and phthalates free and incorporated maracuja oil, which made my skin feel softer and brighter!

This super sized bottle is currently on sale at Sephora for $65 regular $88 :)) Link (here)

Hope you enjoy! xo
